Russia Is Preparing the Syrian Army to Repel Any Turkish Incursion | Elijah J M

There is a massive difference between Yemen and Syria. Yemen had been for the past twenty years allied to Saudi Arabia and the US. It was effectively their puppet state and the Saudis kept control by sending them money and allowing their workers to work in KSA. Whenever they disapproved, the money stopped and workers were fired.

Syria has never been in this position. It has never been subservient to KSA and has never been a US ally. It's ally was USSR/Russia and Iran. One of them is right now present in Syria and ready tyo defend their territorial integrity.

The Yemeni state collapsed and entered a civil war. One that the Houthis and Saleh were basically steamrolling through. The government that the international community recognises even though the Yemeni people had no say was Hadi, the pro-Saudi president. He called for KSA to enter Yemen. Even though this guy has as much support in Yemen as Saddam in Iran, the UN recognises him. Houthis/Saleh can barely stand Iran and Iran is certainly in no position to help them much.

Your giving a very high opinion of the KSA military capabilities. These guys are being handhelded to such a level that it's a joke. They're proof that money doesn't buy everything. They have at least 40+ US personnel planning their missions, checking Intel and coordinating their flight. They have other US forces gathering intel, refueling their planes, maintaining those planes and rescuing their pilots if they crash. The US is also patrolling the shore to make sure that supplies aren't being snuck in. This nation is a joke.

Not really. I don't think the frequency or intensity of cross-border shelling has seriously changed (they just launched their most intensive shelling yet against ISIS on Syrian territory). Even so, the shelling was never intended to hurt the SAA. It was just harassment.

Harassment? Clearly we're not talking about the same war. Erdogans policy until Russia came was to attack any SAA presence near the border. The Turkish army would shell SAA positions and kill soldiers. They would at the same time ferry thousands of jihadists to attack Syria from their soil. The SAA wasn't allowed to fire into Turkish soil so it gave the jihadists and advantage. A long with the fact that the Turkish army would jam SAA communications and provide logistical and medical support to the jihadists. They would shoot down Syrian helicopters and jets in Syrian airspace

They stopped that shit. With the exception of the single attack Russia mentioned a week ago. Turkish troops are just watching as their jihadists friends are losing and the SAA is creeping closer to the border. They're even flying at the border.

What are you talking about? Turkey wouldn't enter through rebel or YPG territory. They would invade ISIS territory and remove them for the villages and towns they control, probably with support form the rebels. Russia will not try to stop them so long as they only fight against IS.

Yes they would. Turkey would be there to support the rebels. The Russians like the YPG but incase you haven't noticed they don't like the rebels so much. They're not going to allow Turkey to entrench themselves in Syria and support their proxies. The Russian goal is very clear. The SAA and YPG will be the only ones left in Northern Aleppo. No ISIS, no rebels, no Turkish influence.
