I’m sick of these type of posts like this ‘This is my friend, he committed suicide today, give me upvotes so I can show his family some support’.

How are you gonna show his family support? By sending them a link to a website where you’re using the picture of their dead loved one for upvotes? How is that gonna make them feel any better? Do you really think 30k upvotes from total strangers mean anything to them? You’re exploiting someone’s death for karma, and that’s a fucking shitty thing to do.

And don’t even get started on that shit about doing it to raise awareness about suicide, as if nobody was already aware and knew at least of someone who’d done it. You wanna raise suicide awareness? Collect money and pay for an ad linking to a suicide prevention line, or volunteer somewhere but because you post the picture of someone who’s kill themselves nobody who is suicidal is gonna suddenly change their mind.

If you wanna use someone’s death for karma at least have the guts to own up to it.
