Your belief that statement like "I believe that advice like 'just buy a gun' is a reductive and not very useful for a lot of women, some reasons stated below" is even an attempt at social commentary or sexist kinda comes across as obsessive.

What I think is sexist is belief that the perspective on self defense, both issues and solutions, should be universal, because by universal people think male. Only 20% of women in america actually believes that owning a gun makes their home safer. So you're not only talking down to them, like the idea of owning a gun couldn't cross their mind on their own, but you also fail to convince them they could find them useful.
