Salt and emotions aside, don’t trust dev saying “This is not how we wanted it” or “It doesn’t work as intended”

I have this theory that we're being phased out due to "age". I mean think about it. A lot of us first encountered Bungie's games with Halo CE, which came out in 2001, 16 years ago. I was already an adult in my early 20s at this time. Now I'm closer to 40.

I suspect I am not the oldest dude out there playing Destiny, and a lot of people found their way to this game the same way I did. I really think these changes to the game that we dislike and are all in mostly general agreement about being implemented to cater the most casual of players (hell I thought I was a casual before D2, but this game is entirely too basic now, even for me) are happening to capture a brand new set of fans customers, of the pre-teen and younger variety. I mean it isn't very long before us older guardians start dying or moving on to things that old people are assumed to all do, like play shuffleboard or some shit.

Call me pessimistic, but I'm really starting to think Bungie doesn't give one single land-based or flying fuck about the bulk of us because someone in a suit somewhere is forecasting that we're going to stop playing paying for reasons other than "you fucked up this game we loved", and there's absolutely nothing that can be done to stop that and he focus must shift to the next generation of gamers.

Yeah, I hope I'm wrong about all of this, but it's hard for me to see how this isn't happening with Destiny right now.
