San Juan mayor: 'I am begging, begging anyone who can hear us to save us from dying'

Your argument that the decisions by Puerto Rico in regard to succession (which I'm familiar with) might effect its ability to recieve aid is plausible, but arguable. Your argument that Puerto Rico shouldn't recieve sympathy because of its political situation isn't. No matter how you phrase it, there is no scenerio where Puerto Ricans deserve to suffer because they can't decide on the issue of statehood.

Puerto Rico is part of FEMA'd Region II. That means it was expected and preplanned that FEMA would help Puerto Rico in caae of a disaster. That means local workers and volunteers were trained in how to operate through FEMA to assist victims. If the United States didn't want to assist their vulnerable commonwealth's then they should have decided this before setting up FEMA in the country, and before the fucking natural and humanitarian disaster.

This isn't some rational decision by the US to deal with Rico's debt, this is a last minute "decision" by Donald Trump is about narccicism and incompetence. Puerto Rico already has very low caps on its entitlement programs and doesn't recieve SSI. Why draw the lone at disaster relief, after the fact?

The dumbest decision here would be to fuck Puerto Rico over with aid. That way you make sure they suceed
