Saudi Arabia performs 84th beheading in 2015

To your first point, as an LEO so works in a prison with death row, I absolutely believe some people deserve to die. Despite that, I am also one hundred percent against the death penalty. The US government has executed plenty of innocent people, and as I dislike many parts of it, it is still a much better system than many countries with the death penalty, especially ones that practice sharia law. So for you to support execution, you have to concede that you're alright with innocent people dying for the sake of killing guilty people. That's a personal opinion, but I value innocent lives more than I value killing the ability to execute somebody. I've known an inmate who was executed for a crime that I personally don't believe he committed. Now obviously I have no proof, and I could be wrong, but say evidence comes out at some point that he was innocent? Just say "oh well, sorry about your luck" to a dead person? It seems pretty backwards to use a system to punish people for killing innocent people, when it's a known fact that the system sometimes kills innocent people.

Even if you do disagree with me, that is also your opinion and I respect it. As should you respect mine.

There is absolutely no reason why I have to respect an opinion if it's blatantly stupid. Now, I do respect your opinion on the death penalty, because I can see a legitimate argument for it, as much as I disagree with it. But I can guarantee there are opinions that I will not respect, regarding aspects of your religion for example.

I'm saying this because a lot of people blur the line between Oh he's drawing hateful comics about the Prophet? He deserves to die! and Oh he's drawing hateful comics about the Prophet? We should go assassinate him!

This is an example of my previous point. I don't respect an opinion that somebody deserves to die for a drawing. I don't care if somebody made the most lifelike sculpture imaginable of Muhammad getting anal fisted by Hitler. If you believe that person deserves to die, then I have no respect for that opinion. Just as I have no respect for sharia, it is outdated, sexist, cruel, and completely inappropriate in modern society.

About your view that somebody who hits their wife being an asshole, I appreciate the opinion, and agree. Unfortunately, despite the personal opinion, it is still something that is acceptable according to your religion, and I've had quite a few Muslims who've stated that there were situations where it would be acceptable, and don't see it as abuse, and they have their religious text to back them up. I'm aware that there have been powerful female figures, but it still doesn't change the fact that the religion does not treat men and women equally.

This is much more disorganized and incomplete compared to what I'd like to write, but I'm working and typing small pieces at a time on my cell phone when time permits, so sorry for anything that doesn't appear to fit or doesn't seem clear.
