That is not what I meant.. what I meant is that even women who are otherwise smart become careless in debates and make mistakes

When pressed, instead of defending your argument, you pretend that you are only defending a milder position: that one should be able to objectively discuss the differences between men and women without insulting anyone.

When someone tells me that I'm not allowed to discuss these differences, then of course my response will be that one should be allowed to discuss them. I don't see what's so special about that.

This arguing technique is called the motte and bailey. To work successfully you need to make the transition between your two positions more subtle.
