My heart dropped reading this because I have an emotional attachment to stuffed animals and always have. I’m married in my 30s and still talk to my little collection of trolls and Barneys lol

I had most of my childhood toys thrown away without my knowledge and I remember that sad feeling. I am sorry to hear this, even though as you said, yay for less clutter!

Take out a piece of paper and write down which toys you remember being in the box and what you remember about them/where you got them. You’ll always have this list tucked away and you can google pictures of them at anytime!

That being said, I do believe your toys have already found a new home. Something tells me they are being played with right now!
