[Serious] Has a friend ever done/said something that just straight up ended the friendship? What happened?

I'm pretty late to the party so I guess no one will even see this answer anymore.

I was working an internship at a school as an educator. Basically a construction worker fell off a scaffolding, from around the 5th floor? Lots of kids and colleagues had either seen him falling or the dead body on the ground. I never saw the guy. But I saw kids staring out of the window, I saw the construction worker's colleagues and I had pupils coming to me, telling me that they saw someone die. So yeah. I cried 2 hours at work that day and was sent home earlier. I'm pretty young and have never experienced something like that.

So I wrote my friends about what happened. And that one friend did not respond at all? She saw my text but did not feel the need to answer to it. And she is always on her phone. So one day later I wrote her that I was disappointed in her reaction. She twists it all around, talking about things that happened 7 years ago, talking about herself and in the end telling me that I was just being whiny for crying over a man I never even knew. That was the last straw for me. She never apologized even though I tried her to do so by ME apologizing. After that the friendship was done for me.
