[Serious] Hotties of Reddit, when did you discover that you were hot and how did it affect your personality?

average-to-slightly-attractive male here with model ex-girlfriend and ridiculously attractive fiancee who is out of my league:

Women do not walk up to me and throw their phone numbers and fallopians at me, but I have found that I can often get free things at restaurants if I make nice with the waitress, and other small things like that. My female students visit my office hours at a MUCH higher rate of frequency than my male students. After graduating a particular school (can't say whether it was HS/JC/uni), a former female teacher, hot and 32 and married, aggressively pursued me. And I mean aggressively.

But the most interesting thing I've seen is not in the way I am treated, but in the way my ex and fiancee are treated.

My ex, "Samantha", was a 6-foot tall leggy brunette model whom I met in college. Her life was kind of miserable. She would get hit on aggressively, nonstop, everywhere she went in our college town. By students, homeless people, middle-age married men. Her female friends were fucking bitches; they constantly mocked her for being a privileged, beautiful girl. On more than one occasion, she would cry in my dorm, telling me that she had no real friends - men never wanted to just be friends with her, and women were always putting themselves in unnecessary competition with her.

When we broke up, it was impossible for me to be friends with her. I was far too physically attracted to her to offer her the friendship she needed, and I feel bad to this day. Samantha is such a sweet, delicate person with a big heart. The only real friend she has is a girl who is even hotter than her, and therefore has no reason to compete with her. Although I am an author, I utterly lack the descriptive power to convey how hot Samantha's friend is.

My fiancee is also very beautiful; she's got strawberry blonde curls and a very chiseled European face. She is a tough-ass German valkyrie who busted my balls for years with her wit and intellect before going in for the kill. She, like Samantha, is chronically in varying degrees of mortal peril just trying to fill up her gas tank or go to the gym or do groceries without being confronted. Often times, men will hit on my fiancee, and when she refuses them, they will get angry and be like "Oh, so you're better than me?" and other senseless boyish shit.

So when I see a gorgeous woman walking down the street now, one who catches my eye, I just kind of pity her. Because I know she catches everyone's eye, and very few people will ever take the time to understand who she is. Most people instantly judge them by their appearance.

How I ended up with either of these people is utterly beyond me, btw.
