[Serious] Ladies of Reddit, how long will you wait for a guy until you give up hoping he's gonna marry you?

Lady here, I don't intend to ever marry so my opinion is irrelevant, but my sister was with a guy 9 years and he never proposed. She left him partly because of that, and found a guy who told her "two years from now, I'll propose." He did 2 years later to the day. They're married and very happy. 2 years is a bit too fast IMO but 9 years is kind of ridiculous if there wasn't any agreement to delay. The 9 year relationship was rife with immaturity, the waiting and waiting fruitlessly wasn't the only red flag but it was one of many flags that pointed to this guy being less mature than my sister.

Five years is a nice span to wait IMO! When the years tick past five, then you start wondering, and then, at least in my sister's case, you grow uncertain and restless. It just depends on the people and the dynamic. You have to communicate about these things.
