[Serious] Redditors who've been 100% certain they're about to die, what was going through your head at that moment?

I blacked out after a 20+ Hr drive home across the country. I thought my mind/body had been given adequate sleep during periodic stops. I was wrong.

The blackout occurred in the middle of Saturday night traffic, only 70 miles from home (After 1,500+ miles). My vehicle hit the median and the front tire burst, sending me airborne/flipping. I only became conscious briefly during the chaos - I remember being "weightless" and I also had a death-grip on the wheel and the pedal slammed. I only thought "This REALLY can't be happening?!" "Why can't I control the wheel with all my strength?!". I don't know how long I was out but I woke up under the vehicle to screams. Everything was a blur and between the screams I could hear "is anyone in there? Are you alive?". It's weird that in retrospect my first thought was, "Fuck who else is injured!", so i tried yelling back and slid a thumbs-up out from under the wreckage.... This was only met with louder screams. Panic set in and all I wanted was to escape. The drivers side was crumpled (and I was upside-down) There was just enough room to wiggle-shuffle to the passenger window. I'm not sure how I managed to smash it out but afterwards I could feel the wheel base on the outside - I grabbed on and pulled for life. I slid out the vehicle remains and immediately did that instinctive body-damage-pat-assessment, praying I didn't have shit missing or something through me. Not a scratch. I was rushed by a crowd of mostly women dressed for clubbing and a few scattered dudes and everybody is grabbing at me and asking WTF happened (It was fucking awkward)... The cops showed up soon after and didn't believe I came out the wreckage, then they started preaching to me (Literal pamphlets and shit) about witnessing a miracle, and finally they walked me through WTF they believe happened (after i declined EMS, cause young, dumb, broke). The cops gave me a ride to an abandoned junkyard/graveyard with what was left of my lifes possessions - then almost immediately abandoned me after a call came in about a drunk driving incident.

I'm not sure what happened next but I woke up in full combat gear with my shit chained up, dragging it behind me, somewhere in the suburban streets outside Dallas. I was told I made quite a few disturbing calls during that time. Finally got picked up - accidentally robbed a store of a few Gaterades in my fucked-up state then collapsed.

Death is weird. I still carry the responding officers card in my wallet as a reminder.
