[Serious] What is the downright SCARIEST thing that has ever happened to you, be it paranormal or otherwise?

Had a bon fire on the beach with a group of friends. Awesome time, but I decided to end the night in the worse way possible by tripping over my feet before the edge of the fire after running back from the ocean. As I fell I broke my fall with my hands. Which landed into the coals of the fire and that fire was burning for a good 5-6 hours before I fell in, oh the coals were nice and hot. But there was one more thing that could make this even better. Throughout the night we decided that the plastic chairs we broke should be thrown in the fire. I mean plastic burns right? Wrong, it melts and well the melted plastic ended up on my face when I fell into the fire and splashed the plastic

I had to triage my self, tell drunk friends to call 911 while I had another friend pour water over my face arms and hands to keep the pain away. (My Skin looked like a rubber glove BTW). Police, fire trucks, medics all showed up. Took a 30 min ride the hospital while I was screaming in the back of the ambulance waiting for the IV pain killers to kick in, which they finally did when I was wheeled into emergency room and not during the ride. While in the emergency room I had nurses and doctors looking at me in a mild shock, it was the plastic on my face... And at this moment I started to realize this is pretty serious while I was in my pain killer stupor from the ride in.

A doctor explained that I needed to get to a burn unit ASAP to ensure I am cleaned up and I heal properly. I was also told that I was going to be flown by helicopter to the hospital but just my luck there was poor visibility due to a thick fog cover. I started to realize this is really really serious.

So I was loaded into another ambulance and took a scenic 2 hour ride to the burn hospital across the state. I was definitely having fun now.

I was in that hospital for 10 days and I was an outpatient for a good half a year making sure I healed up as expected. Here is the silver lining of the whole ordeal, I have full movement of my hands and fingers with complete feeling. My face barely has any scars, the only scars that are noticeable are on my hands and arms.

Also every single person, from the police, the fire fighters, the medics, to the staff at both hospitals were amazing and I have so much gratitude towards them and could never thank them enough.

By far the SCARIEST thing I have ever been through, and it was the PTSD that I had after it that really made it worse.

TLDR: Learned how gravity and fire worked at the same time on a beach. Second and Third Degree burns on my face, hands, and arms. 10 days in a burn unit and I was scared Shitless and in pain 10/10 would not do again

Also excuse the piss poor grammar, punctuation, and possible run-ons.
