[Serious] What interaction with a stranger has been burned into your memory?

I had an experience in this vein. My husband and I went out to a local pub, and I ordered a glass of red wine. I hadn't drunk at all that day, but something in the wine (it might have been off or past its best) started a sense of nausea in me and I was sitting close to the door, my mouth was watering like when you're about to puke, and they only had a bathroom quite a way away that you had to get a key for etc, etc. I made an executive decision, the only decision really as I knew I was going to vomit almost immediately, to go outside and puke next to their large pot plant so I was reasonably hidden but still not puking IN their plant which I thought would just be rude.

Anyway, once I was done I told the owner (a formidable woman) what I'd done and asked her for a mop. She directed me to the kitchen where the cleaner/janitor dude (much older than me) said he would clean it up. I assured him that I did not expect him to clean up my vomit, and he gave me a bucket and mop. I went out and cleaned up and then took the bucket and mop back and washed both thoroughly.

The owner came up to me after I had done cleaning up and she said - 'You left your wedding ring on the sink of the bathroom the last time you were here. If you hadn't have cleaned up like you did, I would've held onto it.' And there in her palm is my wedding ring which I'd been sweating bricks about losing. I'd given it up for lost as we hadn't been there for weeks. I must've taken it off to wash my hands like I always do. She said she was impressed by the fact that I was upfront and cleaned up my own mess. Most customers (they stay open til like 3 a.m) puke all over the place and just leave it for the poor cleaner dude. Anyway, got my ring back. Felt happy.
