When I was younger, about 5 years old, I took naps in the afternoon. Facing the wall, usually. Between 5pm-6pm, someone would try to nudge me awake from behind. It stops when I decide to get off the bed.

Some times I asked my family who did it, assuming they woke me up for dinner. No one would confess to it, so one day I tried to find out who it was. The first time they nudged me, I pretended to still be asleep. The second time they nudged me, I quickly opened my eyes and turned behind me to see who it was. I saw no one though.

Anyway, I stopped taking naps a few months after just because “I grew out of it”. Obviously the shaking stopped too.

Fairly recently, something similar happened again. I was in another city, sleeping on another bed, facing the wall again. You know when people quickly... swipe their finger on your shoulder to get your attention? Kind of like poking but in a quick, sweeping manner, if that makes sense. Yeah, someone did that to me about 2am in the morning. It happened again after a few days, so I asked my sister to sleep beside me. I think it only happens when I sleep alone on the bed.

I told my parents about both incidents, but they didn’t believe me. They said I was imagining things. Maybe I was, but I couldn’t determine why or how. With sleep paralysis, I know enough to believe that the demons I would see aren’t real, but with this situation, I really can’t find a valid explanation.
