[Serious] What should every teenager know to avoid getting screwed over in a first job?

No, its was a good summer job and I got along with everyone. Its just that people who have been there for 10 years don't want some 16 year old kid walking into the job and telling them what they think about how the job should be done.

The job was at a large college. It was doing office moves. The job consisted mostly of moving boxes and desks around to new areas.

I kept my mouth shut and just worked. I ended up getting along with mostly everyone. The guy who started a few days before me wouldn't shut up, was lazy, and always gave his opinion about the job. It also didn't help that his Dad worked at the college and was in charge of some of us. He once said to a coworker "If you behave and be nice to me, maybe I'll tell my Dad to give you a little raise."

Everyone hated him, and picked on him. It got to the point where a guy (who just got back from boot camp training) made some joke about the kid sucking milk out of his Dad's nipples. The kid screamed at him and started cry and telling him to shut up.

So long story short: Don't really talk until you observe the job and how your co-workers act and do the job. Now I talk all the time with them. But my first 3 months I barely spoke.
