Men are allowed to be angry in pretty much any situation without that anger being used against them in any meaningful way. They aren't "called emotional, or difficult," but rather "forceful" or "bold." We consistently judge women more harshly for the same behavior that's often praised in men. This is a well-established fact.

Again, Jen isn't talking about how much either of them have suffered, because that isn't the point. She isn't even talking about their respective capacities for anger. She's exclusively speaking about the different standards that the world sets for each of them.
