Should John Williams score Star Wars VIII?

Geers had a good response. There were more scenes in those two movies as well. I'm highlighting only a couple. ROTS's final scene staring at the sunset, etc., etc.

What were the moments of quiet reflection in III and V?

It's not necessarily even quiet reflection, it's just slower scenes. TFA was practically non-stop action. ANH is action then it's 10 to 15 minutes of slow scenes with the droids on Tattooine, then a scene with Luke vs. a Tusken Raider which is 15 seconds, then 15 minutes of slow scenes with Ben until they blast off in the millenium falcon which is about 5 minutes of screentime. Back to slow with Luke training and even on the Death Star the action doesn't start for 10 to 15 minutes. ESB starts off slow with Luke and Han on Hoth. Luke gets attacked which is 5 seconds of screen time. Then back to slow for 15 minutes Han and Leia fighting in Hoth base with Leia's theme in the background. C3P0 and R2D2 arguing. No one knowing where Luke is. Vader sending out probe droids. The first real action scene is the Imperial assault which is a decent amount of time into the film. A lot of ESB is very slow. ROTJ had 30 minutes at Jabba's palace which climaxed in a 5 minute fight, then it slowed down as Leia and Han regrouped with the Rebels and Luke visited Yoda. The next real action sequence wasn't until the surface of Endor on the Bikes. Same goes with the PT.

TFA? A couple minutes of Po getting the map. Action sequence. Po gets taken and interrogated. Several slow minutes with Rey. Action sequence of Po and Finn escaping and crash landing. Action sequence of ties on Finn's tail. Action sequence in the millenium falcon. 3 minutes with Han. Action sequence with Pirates. They go to Maz's for several minutes. Action sequence. TFA is way faster than the OT and PT. It's difficult to "build" a score when most of the film is action.
