Should personal feelings go into making a decision at work?

Let me start off by giving you some introduction on certain issues i'm having with a criminal case, that's on the east coast

-I'm a District Attorney who works on the east coast, for obvious reasons i have to be as vague as possible when discussing this case. Lets call the case ("PAYBACK") which was originally brought to my attention in the Summer of 2007, "PAYBACK" involved two males who where found deceased due to strangulation. Both men also had their genitalia severed off (we will get into why that's key to my case) which in my 18 years of experience means these killings most likely had a very personal nature connected to them.

-Timeline Of Suspects: Police initially had no suspects for the first 7-10 days, approximately 10-12 days after the murders, police started getting calls/tips on possible connection between "PAYBACK" and a prior crime that happened 2 months earlier before the murders occurred. Two months earlier, two teenage female cousins where raped at gunpoint (12 years old ; 9 years old) this was a major break because the suspects in that case ended up being our murder victims in the double homicide i'm working now. After getting tips about the possible link between both cases we did dual DNA test from our murder victims and matched it up against the rape kit police did on both rape victims, and we did get a match. So police had motive, and now a very helpful timeline to work with as they continued to search for suspect(s).

-Motive: After a few months passed, police started getting tips about the family members of the two girls who where raped by our murder victims, one person of interest kept sticking out (can't use real names for obvious reasons) so lets call him "ENFORCER". This individual was known as a no nonsense type of guy on the streets, he was also the Uncle of our rape victims, so it made perfect sense that he wanted "PAYBACK"

-Warrant Issued: Police finally arrest the "ENFORCER" around December of 2007, they get him in the box seeing if he breaks and admits to the double homicide, he doesn't crack, basically saying four words the entire 48 hours "I WANT MY LAWYER". Nothing but circumstantial evidence at this point, so we can't hold the "ENFORCER" any longer.

-Moral Compass: Personally i'm having a tough time with this case, we think we have a legit suspect who committed these murders, but on the other hand he was defending his young nieces who both were brutally raped by those scumbags. Once again i have a job that requires me to not make cases personal, but i have daughters and the "ENFORCER" (if he did commit this crime) probably did what a few of us would want to be done or do ourselves.

-Background Check: Our district had 10 unsolved rape cases dating back to 2003, we compared DNA on all the cases and our murder victims came up a match on six of them. These scumbags not only robbed female victims, they also gang raped them and in one case it was a 7 year old female and her mom during an home invasion. Now we also did background check on the "ENFORCER" he had a few incidents but nothing major, mostly fights in the street, no drugs, no weapons charges, but he did have links to the Russian and Italian underworld. Info was showing that they used him for gambling, loansharking purposes.

-Case Falls Apart: It's 2009 now, still no eyeball witness on murders, no snitches, so we had to stop pursuing the "ENFORCER" at that time. We did however start to see that the "ENFORCER" was building quite the online presence, with gambling tips, fantasy news, etc...

-Case Back On?: Two weeks ago i received some info from a jail house snitch that they had 2nd hand info telling them "ENFORCER" was indeed the person who murdered those two scumbags. Now my question to everyone on Reddit is this, do i investigate further and arrest the "ENFORCER" or do i just let it go and let a much higher power deal with the "ENFORCER" who's online persona is aka Incarcerated Bob

Thanks for taking time to read what's been on my chest the past few weeks.
