Sikh woman with a turban

I started wearing a dastar after college, and you're totally right it completely stops people from even thinking of hitting on you. (Sidenote: Black brothers in particular know a queen when they see one.) I see attraction flit across the faces of men for a split second before they process the rest, and then they take a huge step back and I get treated with the utmost respect.

This isnt going to be popular here, where advice is suposed to come from Sikhi and not from the heart. But whatever, I dgaf. I am a strong Sikh woman and my perspective is valuable (whatever the morality brigade thinks).

I was a total hornball at your age. Being sexually ignored would have wrecked me. If you want to let your hair down and step into some heels to feel sexy - girl do it. Power up. Not everyone can be a saint. I've seen "good" girls fuck up wonderful relationships bc they felt they hadn't experienced enough to fully commit (cold feet). You have your whole life to be perfect, but you won't have another youth. No regrets!

My path feels so much more clear, and I feel so fulfilled due to the richness of my experiences. I cherish so much more the stability I have now. I wear a dastar, I stand tall, and I kick ass every goddamn day. I am a self-realized and empowered woman, flanked by my Guru and his Singh.

Follow your heart, trust your roots and keep your wits about you.
