I'm not sure what the point of "Your Phone" is?

I recently switched from iPhone to Android and was stoked for easier management, but...I don't get enough text messages to make keyboard typing a time saver (I mostly use Hangouts, which isn't integrated with Your Phone). Then I thought the Photo sync would be a much faster and easier way to manage photos than the arduous native Windows 10 Photos app, but no...you can't do any sort of mass selection, only individual click and share stuff, so it's still faster to just organize from Google Photos. And notifications are no help because I can always dismiss those faster from my phone with a wave of my thumb.

What am I missing? Unless you use this app at work because you can't be seen playing around on your phone -- though I can't imagine syncing my phone to a work computer -- is there a point to this app that I'm missing? It doesn't make anything faster or easier.
