Sinema leaving the Democratic Party and registering as an independent

Okay. Let's be real for a second. Bear with me, because I feel like I make a strong and valid point.

When was the last time you wrote your congress person to ask them to vote in a particular matter? Do you know anyone who has? Have you ever felt that your choice for elected official ever actually represented your interests? When your choice for an elected official votes contrary to your interests, have you at any other time in your life, voiced your contempt for it?

I would assume that as long as that official voted with the party, you haven't said anything.

But, the minute an elected official decides that her own party is taking the WRONG course of action, shit lights up. You watch the news and see that this person is a rogue, a liar, a cheat - She doesn't support you, BECAUSE she doesn't support the PARTY! How COULD she support your interests if she doesn't back the PARTY! Because PARTY = Voter's interest. You're being told what to think without looking at the bigger situation.

Okay. She voted no to raise the minimum wage - Along with 7 other democrats. She said the timing wasn't right. So in the year following that vote, Inflation has hit new records. MAYBE she knew something that the public didn't know? Maybe she was, you know, doing the politics in a way that served the best interest of her constituents? Maybe she didn't talk about it because she expected to be misunderstood? (like she is now)

Tell me that you can't believe this is the case, and I'll delete all my comments in this thread.
