A Republican congresswoman broke down in tears begging her colleagues to vote against a same-sex marriage bill

"Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances." - The 1st Amendment

If you're going to advocate for the 1st Amendment, please argue for the entire thing! It's all rather uncontroversial if you let your personal views remain just that: personal views. My personal views shouldn't affect your ability to do X thing, nor should it go the other way. Can we just stop policing what people do in the bedroom and get down to issues that actually matter? As a conservative, I would love if my party focused more on the wasteful spending that both parties do instead of worrying about some guy in the middle of Buttfuck, Nowhere eating another guy's ass. When you put it the way I just did, it makes the whole thing sound stupid, doesn't it?
