Sleeping in is considered lazy, but going to bed early is not

How much "me time" do you need after work. I was so insanely hyped-up from working the dinner rush, that I couldn't have gone to bed right after work, but after two hours and a beer or two I would be wound down pretty well.

I'm just looking at it from a health perspective - we're diurnal creatures and I've just found I do better when I stick as closely as possible to a normal sleep schedule. But, yeah, everyone is different.

I guess having to get to work by 9 am 3 days a week did play a role, but I know I was less tired when I got up early in comparison to when I stayed up all night and slept until 3:45 pm.

Did you also just say you worked regular 15 hour days? That might contribute to it as well.

I've also done breakfast shifts from 6 am to 2 pm and then right to a dinner shift at another restaurant from 4 pm to midnight closing 6 days a week during peak season. I got used to doing 16 hour days working for my dad growing up, so it wasn't a huge change for me. Maybe I don't need as much "me time", since there's also a lot of down time when you're cook.
