There's a lot of reasons but most, if not all stem from patriarchal mindset. Older gen women are so much indoctrinated with it right since their childhood that they can't stand younger women wearing what they want. It can be jealousy or it can be very unsettling for them because the system as they knew all their life is being overthrown. Good progress until the past couple of years where I see wannabe "dank" memers mocking independent women and as a result of that, other younger women as well as men again falling prey to the same old mindset. If yall so dark and edgy how about joke and ridicule the old system that don't let women choose and confine them.
