As someone that has to wait a week to really begin treatment, and has had a locked jaw for 2 months, what are the chances my jaw joint is screwed? Terrified of needing surgery or something.

I was stuck at two finger opening for around 6 months into non-surgical treatment so I know how you feel, it's hard not to stress about it. It was a long time but my case was particularly bad and I didn't get the right treatment for me - first was physio, then a splint, and the second splint worked in a couple of months (3 finger opening now) . So if you see someone who really knows about TMJ, I'm sure they will help you a lot faster than that! And remember everyone's case is different. Some people get better with non-surgical treatment, I'm seeing a surgeon soon because that's not my case. Just remember one day you'll be able to eat any foods again and not be in pain so don't give up or over think things, and follow your specialists advice
