[SOTC] Variety on a Budget

"All these watches are sub 1k"

Now I feel like a real asshole. I subbed here a few weeks ago. I'm just a normal ass guy. I bought a Bulova chronograph that was $350 on Macy's during their Presidents Day "sale". I found it factory refurbished for $130. I got a artsey kind of watch from Stuhrling thag goes for $330 (I originally ordered a simple $65 watch, but they sent me one a lot better). I won an auction on Ebay for a Bulova 98c123 for $62. Its normally like 200 or so. Got a Citizens aviator, green strap for under 100.

And with those 4, in the circle of people I know (i just live in a mid size city)... that would be considered spending a decent amount on watches. On "a budget" would be getting a couple Fossil watches with a 20% off coupon. A multiple thousand dollar watch collection would be considered pretty rich. I've been subbed here thinking I fit in. But looking through posts... Rolex, Omega, 1k+ after 1k+ watch... I kind of feel like an asshole. I have actually taken opinions here into account while buying watches ("Well I guess Stuhrling isn't that great"), but I'm just gonna but what makes me happy.

I'm not talking shit about this sub. It's exactly what it claims to be. But it just kind of hit me that I'm not operating at anywhere near the same level as some of the more popular widely held opinions on this sub and I shouldnt pretend I am. Buying a Switch was a huge purchase for me. Having a watch on my wrist that costs the same as my Switch as I play it... that's a pretty big purchase. Think I need to unsubscribe from this sub and just like the watches I like. Again, nothing against this sub. You just find yourself following popular opinions. But this being considered "a budget"... I am in the wrong place
