[SOTC 11/22] Boring public accountant's six watch collection

Accountant here, did a few years in public and now in private. I have a decent collection, but they're all pretty reasonably priced. I don't think I spent over $500 on any of them. I like to have a variety. I've thought about dumping the whole collection for an Explorer, but I think I like having the options. I'm also not against modding to look like other watches, sometimes you want the look without the $10k+ price tag, but I would never try and pass off the mod as an original.

Off the top of my head, in no particular order, and without pictures since I'm working. Leave a workpaper note for any model number errors, I'm not looking anything up here to confirm.

  • SKX007J - Picked this up recently because I wanted one stock after they were discontinued. I always thought the SKX was a bit ugly but I like it a lot more these days and like that it's distinctly Seiko, even though I do have several Seikos modded to look like other watches

  • SKX007J Dagaz Black Bay Mod - My primary watch for a long time. Love the Black Bay but now that I can actually buy one I prefer the stock SKX more these days. I'm on the hunt for the Smiley Dial with the ETA movement but not sure if I'll ever pull the trigger.

  • Hamilton Khaki Field Automatic 38mm - My most recent acquisition and probably my favorite watch currently. Love it.

  • SNZG15J - My first mechanical watch, purchased probably almost ten years ago at this point. Doesn't get a lot of wear these days but I'll never sell it for sentimental value. I still like it but it doesn't see the wrist that much.

  • SRP307J Black Monster - One of my favorite watches of all time. Just happened to come out at the right time because I prefer it to all other monster variants that came before or after.

SARB017 - Picked this up secondhand I think right around the time they discontinued them. It's a perfect everyday watch and one of my favorites. I like that the green dial gets my away from my usual style of a black dial watch.

  • Orient Mako and Mako USA 2 - The mako was probably my first diver and I really liked it, good value when I was just getting into watches. I was upset when I found out they made a Mako USA because they were all sold out at that point. When the 2 came out I had to jump on it as an upgrade to the original.

  • Orient Bambino - I have two of these. I think it's the V3 with the gray dial and the V4 in rose gold with the brown dial. The V3 is a good business casual office wear but I much prefer the way the V4 looks.

  • Seiko Cocktail Time - I don't know the model number but it's the "Manhattan" configuration. Rose gold with the brown textured dial. Love this watch and got it as a nice watch that fills the same slot of the Bambino but a little higher end

  • A couple other Seiko mods: black bay 36 style mod, a Yobokies Sinn S104 and 556 mod, an AJuicet watch. I'm in the process of acquiring a Seiko Explorer mod. Maybe one or two more that I can't think of at the moment.

  • I think I have a couple of high value low priced quartz watches as well, like a Timex Weekender and a Casio Duro. I don't wear these anymore but I did when they were all I owned and I would recommend them to anyone.

  • Several G Shocks: the 5610, the 5000 with the screw down caseback which I added a combi bracelet to, a negative display 5610 with the combi bracelet, another 5610 which I modded with the AliExpress virtual armor case. Not G Shocks but I also have to F91Ws, one with the blue accents and one with tan.

  • A couple of AliExpress watches. The only one worth mentioning is probably the Escapement Time Flieger. I don't wear any of the others.

I'm probably forgetting some stuff but that's it for now.
