[South Africa] Biker cop chases and helps immobilise stolen vehicle

I live in America and I can guarantee you that I am not even a cop and I’m still legally protected to draw my pistol if I have it on me at the time and shoot to kill from cover into their car as a pedestrian even if they weren’t coming towards me directly and only at some indirect passing angle. The police would just explain to me the favor I did after I check my pistol with them and they do a quick perimeter check to make sure I wasn’t being negligent with missed shots that landed in peoples homes or other cars.

The impressive thing here you don’t see in America is discharging firearms while driving and flying! As others mentioned, our helicopters fly high and track you with infrared cameras.

In America the police would not shoot or most likely not even draw pistols unless they are convinced that they have to empty the magazine into someone and there is kind of an awful lack of oversight into the whole thing. From what I’ve seen here though I’d say it’s clearly justifiable and the cop acted commendably for not escalating the situation to something I’m more accustomed to seeing.
