South Dakota nurse says many dying patients still insist COVID-19 'not real'

Okay. I have a question here for folks in the US.

Why are your conservatives like this? Have they always just been...willfully ignorant about things or is it exclusive to the Trump era?

Conservatives in my country (Canada) may take a different tack than I would on some issues, but they take the virus seriously. At least as far as I’ve seen. My premier (think governor) is consecutive and I think he’s done a great job.

But this just boggles the mind. Not believing it exists meanwhile dying from it at the same time. Is this sort of mindset exclusive to the right of your country, or is it just more apparent there? Or is it media bias?

Seriously trying to understand this.
