Spanish welfare state and the new entrepreneurs, visual representation

Source at twitter

I said this as the representation of new entrepreneurs because more new companies are created in the logistics sector and have zero employees other than the CEO/delivery guy. Being it food, or messaging.

Remember, around 80% of the Business-administrators/self-employed workers don't have employees in Spain. Spain has over 3 millions of people running their own business, and less than 19 millions working, one of the highest rates of self-employment of Europe.

And yes, self-employed people opt-out by default of all social benefits except retirement pension. So, they don't have sick leave. parental leave, unemployment benefits, minimum wage or any other social benefit. That's why many companies are replacing actively their employees with full-time exclusive contractors.

True, this isn't new for self-employed people. But, also the new trends as the labor market liberalization makes easier to replace employees with contractors.
