(Spoilers Extended) S6E2 THE NORTH Post-Episode Discussion

I was just curious about why you were curious, IYKWIM :-) Just to prove I bear you no ill will whatsoever, I will now go on to feed some of your other curiosities.

Totally fair! My biggest rally cry is that we're all on team ASOIAF, in that I find it ironic when people in here argue. Like, I love that people are as into this as me. I love that theories are tossed in my lap, some of them reasonable, because other people love these books as much as I do. It's a gift. That we disagree is inevitable, I just strive to make sure we're not dicks to each other!

Only Cat

My defense on this line is based on my time in publishing. In the SATs, once, there was an issue for the test publishers because (and I might be screwing up the details, but the lesson should be clear) people in rural areas were consistently scoring lower, much lower, than they should. They discovered this was because this involved a character mentioned in the English section "sitting on a stoop". Enough people didn't know what a stoop was that they assumed other things. A tree stump, a stooped river edge, etc. Of course, they were in a city.

I think that perhaps "Only Cat" could have been good for 75% of people who watch the show, especially with the Previously Ons. But I understand after the stoop data why they wouldn't take that risk. And in the scheme of things, it's as brutal, right? Maybe the nickname adds a little spice, but that's what the books are for. Or maybe they could have gotten away with it, sure. I would admit if you're a big fan of the book line, you can classify this as an error. And I'll just disagree, I'm not a professional haha

Fetch me a block

I honestly can't even see this one as a bad one. The reason it's badass is because of the action, which Jon Show does. He executes someone with Longclaw. "A block" was way more vague than "Cat", not everyone knows the importance of a block in that era. "Fetch me my sword" is more evident of SHIT'S GOING DOWN to the average viewer.
