[Spoilers] Something from the MSQ that I'm not seeing discussed...

Something that really doesn't sit well with me is the writing behind the interaction between the hand maiden and Nanamo before we even arrive at the banquet hall. I really want to rewatch the scenes to get a second review of it, but from what I recall, the handmaiden asks Nanamo if she's alright, and if she still wants to go through with it. Nanamo looks incredibly troubled at that point... and then her tone and disposition take a complete turn in front of the main character. She's smiling, albeit sadly, but it just feels like the two didn't connect. You almost had to wonder if she knew more about what was going to go down before it happened. I'm not convinced of anyone's guilt (or innocence) at this point.

What we do know is that Teledji's role in this was orchestrated. There's no doubt about this. His characterization would lead us to believe that he thought so highly of himself that it would have made him for a very self-righteous pawn in the "Kill The Queen" subtext. What we don't know is far more interesting- whether or not they had planned for Raubhan to fly off the handle at that point and redeem us (in a really hazy, fucked up sort of way).

My personal opinion? I get the sense that Lolorito's frustration at the end was the random variable in the plot. I feel like we're being red herring-ed into some of this. We don't know his intention or his benefactor/what he's attempting to gain from the political fireworks show placed around the main character, but we can, for sure, tell that he was somewhat distraught about the events that played out. I don't think he would be so nearsighted over our escape to believe it impossible, but rather I think that Raubhan complicated the plans he had/was instructed to carry out. Jury's out on this one. I can't tell if Lolorito is honestly good or bad, but SE wants us to believe (setting, music, dialogue, and story framing) that he was masterminding something. Which usually... for FF world, will create a grey area for us to see when our own redemption arc is played out in HW.
