Spondoolies releases its newest bitcoin miner The 8TH Watson SP40

Big news for miners! Spondoolies Tech, the Israeli based mining equipment provider has just released its newest bitcoin mining machine, the Watson SP40 with 8TH/s of hashing power with a very good price of $1,235. The SP40 is much more efficient than its predecessor, the SP35, offering a reduction in operational costs, as well as increased ease of management and maintenance. With more than 100 units sold in the first two hours, the first batch will most likely be sold out in the following hour.

Spondoolies declared that only 200 units will be available for purchase in the first batch and only five units per customer can be ordered. The decision to limit purchases to five units/client has been taken as a measure to prevent mining farms from buying the entire stock in minutes.”

Guy Corem, CEO of Spondoolies declared: “The SP40 is one of the most ambitious projects we have done. We wanted to make it so anyone can have a profitable Bitcoin miner without the need for a large scale operation”

Guy Corem of Spondoolies-Tech is a very thoughtful leader who built his team carefully when entering the ASIC Bitcoin Miner industry. That careful approach extends to every step in the process as well as adapting as needed to bring the best Bitcoin miners they can to market. The SP40 is no exception.

The SP40 will set a new bar in innovation for Spondoolies, already known for its high-end products. Technical highlights include:

Effective Hash Rate: 8 TH/s ± 10%

Nominal Power Consumption: 2200 W
Power Efficiency: 0.28W/GH/s
ASIC: Total 20 Spondoolies-Tech RockerBox II ASICs

Power Supply: 2 x 1200 W
Controller: TI Sitara 1GHz (based on Beagle Bone Black)

Mining Software: cgminer with custom plugin
Form Factor: 2 U rack mountable (mounting ears provided)

Network: Single 10/100 Ethernet port

“We are excited about the launch of the SP40, which should be the leader in hashing power and power efficiency. The SP40 is expected to allow users to deploy large processing power (hash rate) with a small number of units and without having to care for external power supplies,” says Guy Corem, Chief Executive Officer of Spondoolies.

“The Watson SP40 is a major step forward in terms of bitcoin miners and should position us ahead of our competitors. We’re very strong believers in keeping Bitcoin decentralized and will continue to make our machines available to Joe Miner for as long as we are making hardware” says BTCS CEO Charles Allen.

Founded in 2013 by a group of Israeli high-tech veterans, Spondoolies is a transaction verification server manufacturer. Spondoolies raised ten million dollars in capital from leading Israeli venture capital firms and assembled a team of leaders in the Israeli Semiconductor industry, with the goal of building the infrastructure on which digital currencies will flourish. Building transaction-verifying servers from the bottom up, Spondoolies is producing machines that are designed for efficiency and performance. During 2014, Spondoolies successfully launched five different products.
