SSRIs and seizure related mental health issues

I had about as negative an experience as you can have with SSRIs: With a healthy brain, I started Paxil for insomnia in my mid-20s and 30 days later I had a seizure with no medical or family history of them...I am now epileptic. 10 years later in the height of COVID I needed something to help with the shitshow of a world we all live in now and was desperate enough to try SSRIs again. This time I had the help of my neurologist and not an incompetent GP, arrived on a small dose of Zoloft; so far so good. Takes the edge off of my anxiety/depression and hasn't had any noticeable effects on my seizure frequency/severity knocks on wood.

According to my neuro, SSRIs do lower your seizure threshold so proceed with caution and with the help of an expert.
