State trooper delays telling children of parents’ death, takes them on Trick or Treating

My mother died from cancer in the span of a week after being told she had two to three years. My wedding was the month after she died. She was a very important part of my life, but the hardest was watching her suffer from a mistake a doctor made for over a year or more.

She had Chiari (I believe that was the name of it) and had to have a patch installed in the back of her head. One day she had a severe panic attack which they thought was a heart attack at first. The doctor put her through stress tests and one of which was a decompression chamber. The whole purpose of the patch was to keep that part of her skull at the top of her spinal cord compressed.

Needless to say it blew the patch out and slowly began losing bodily functions. She had to wear a neckbrace the rest of her life and walk with a walker as well as use a catheter. No lawyer would take her case and she was left to suffer, while because of this she may not have known cancer was growing within her.

We got a call, got told she had two to three years (that wrecked me) and within a few days my best friend, life support, compass, and rock was gone exactly a month and a day from my wedding and she was the only one I truly wanted to come no matter what. That's really all it takes. She gave me a reason to live, my father is already dead to me because of past events and selfishness. I just try to forgive him but wish my mother didn't have to suffer till the day she died.

It fucking sucks. Why does he get to live but my mother doesn't? He did nothing for her, he wouldn't even buy her Valentine's Day gifts or anniversary presents. That fucker. Anyways, sorry for venting. I am glad this good hearted man made a difference in their lives and helped them a great deal.
