Stop throwing babies into dumpsters

Sexual assault is a really common thing. Like, 1 in 5 women common. And while it's not just men perpetrating it, the highest reported sexual assault stats are man-on-woman. I don't have the stats for throwing babies into the trash on hand, but I'm pretty sure they're lower than that and equating the two is just dumb.

Men get raped by women. It happens less, but it does indeed happen. And when men say "no", they get called names, they're told they're ungrateful, that they're not really men. However, please take a moment to think about who usually does the teasing: OTHER MEN. Choice phrases include: "I wish I had teachers like that at my school when I was that age!" "How is it rape when she has tits like that?" "It's not rape if you want it!"

American society has an obsession with macho culture and masculinity. Turn on a TV and watch as the male characters are obsessed with sex, women, one night stands. The women are usually more coy and shy, but eventually give in to the chase that the male character has "worked" to keep up. This is an absolutely terrible formula that is retold over and over again.

Macho culture is gross, it's what teaches men that they can't be emotional or they're women, and that women are inferior, and that you shouldn't share traits with women or else you're just as bad. This makes it so that everyone is constantly trying to be bigger, stronger, louder, less emotional and more hormonal. It's what makes guys afraid to report rape, to say no to sex, to feel pressured into one night stands and losing their virginity. It's what tells men they have to love tits, ass, women. Sex at any time, no matter how tired, and any place, no matter how public is something society tells you to want as well as strive for.

I think, overall, we need to be teaching EVERYONE how important consent is, and that it's okay to speak out about how you feel without any fear of someone calling you a pansy or an idiot, or a bitch or a slut.

Sorry if this sounded like an unintelligible rant, it's 4am and this post and it's predictable comments made me mad.

TLDR; men and women both want sex when they enthusiastically consent and you should never pressure either gender to have it. Please report it to the police if you are sexually assaulted no matter what gender you are and who you've been assaulted by.
