And ya, your comment probably helps the OP a lot because you pointed out that MANY others are in the same boat as them (billions!), so that way the OP won't feel like it's just them, and they're crazy.


But of course, I guess ultimately in the end, the OP's primary question is probably just... why? (And maybe also, what can be done about it?)

Not sure if there really is a definitive answer. Sleep research is such a complex ongoing field.

The human brain is the most advanced computing machine known in the galaxy, and it's all put together in a crazy, ad-hoc, spaghetti-code like evolutionary process, across time.

So it's going to take a while to try to understand this advanced, yet weirdly programmed computer inside our heads!
