I have stubornly abstained from any DL2 info or footage! Is it what we have heen waiting for? Safe to buy?

The story isn’t that great so far, but it’s hard to judge it because none of us really know more than the prologue and maybe a few events after that. It’s hard to make a conclusive argument against the story when you’re most likely not even 25% there, yet.

As for the graphics, the game takes a hit. On PS5 and PC, at least for me, it feels smooth but the resolution still definitely takes a hit.

And the only other negative so far is human combat. I think it’s subpar at best, but every other area has been great for me so far. Not that other opinions don’t matter, but I’ve been reading nothing positive from people who’ve replied and played, so far, so I think it’s unfair to not show it some credibility.

  1. Zombie slashing feels better
  2. You can’t slash things in half, but some animations are a major and great upgrade over the first game.
  3. Quarantine zones are back and are all around better. They have a timer on them, so it’s a sort of speed run of sorts. If you wish to proceed later than the time allowed (without spoiling), you’ll need to sit in a UV light or in direct sunlight. It’s challenging.
  4. Parkour is better. Maybe not game-breaking better, but it’s good.
  5. Chases are the best thing the game has to offer. I’ve gotten into chases on purpose and the intensity of them can get overwhelming at times.

Again, the game suffers from poor optimization, but I think the gameplay package received are much better than what people make it out to be.
