Cam was rusty, but will get the timing down after a week or two. See Jacksonville 2015. The pick was bad, but I believe that pick doesn't happen without an injured shoulder. His arm strength isn't close to 100%. He will always overthrow, and throw off his back foot. At this point in their career QB's mechanics are what they are. Doesn't mean he can't win a lot of games or even a Superbowl. Especially with this caliber o-line play. We way overused CMC by design. They wanted him to get a lot of touches and break the ice. It paid dividends later, see Stew's touchdown. I expect the game plan to be different against Buffalo. Despite what his ypc said CMC had a good first game for a rookie. He needs to work on ball security, NFL guys tackle AND go for the ball. College guys just tackle. Also, dancing around is not going to work against NFL defenses. On plays where he hit the gaps hard, one cut and go, he did very well. His hype as a receiving threat is real and I am so happy about what that will do to opposing teams. He and Stew have great chemistry and they remind me so much of double trouble. Defense.......hnnnnnnnnnng. This defense could easily be top 5 this year. Ferocious front 7. Real, actual NFL caliber corner backs, and a solid pair of safeties that were low key awesome yesterday. All in all I expected a slow start from the offense. Defense beat expectation. If we can protect the ball I think this team could look strikingly similar to 2013, but with more playoff experience. Just one man's opinion. I am very excite. Yes, excite.
