That statement is so stupid that it has to be a troll, at least I hope so...

It's hard to pinpoint exactly when slavery began, but my guess is that it's as old as humanity itself, in a sense at least, or maybe older. Disclaimer: the next part of this comment is from a source I read a while back but can't find again, so it may be wrong. Take this next part with a grain of salt, because I might be an idiot A while back I read about a primatologist, maybe Jane Goodall, who observed chimpanzees "conquer" another group of chimpanzees and take in the survivors by force. In a sense, this could be viewed as conquering and enslaving; which raises the question of whether or not it's a part of human nature or not.

There is no group or civilization who "invented" slavery, but over the past few centuries, we've finally began to abolish it.
