Just got back from the States this morning, where I was visiting the girlfriend. Neither a good nor bad getaway- stayed mostly in a very boring part of the country where she grew up. I live in a not-quite-as-boring-but-still-shitty part of the UK these days and my dad planted the seed of the idea of moving back to Dublin. I'm here for a career I've finally accepted that I'm not cut out for (nurse by training, not by disposition) and I'm starting to weigh up the pros and cons of staying vs moving home for newer pastures. I've drifted apart from pretty much everyone I knew in Dublin (who didn't emigrate themselves) and the idea of coming home kinda seems like a step back, but I'm one of those gombeens who always wanted to leave.
