'Supergirl' Boss on Alex's Journey to Coming Out

Personally speaking, I'm thrilled for this storyline. Everything tonight felt so real and genuine and not straightsplained, from Alex's gay panicking to her emotional and hesitant coming out speech.

I'm also ecstatic to see that it's pretty clear that Kara is going to be open and supportive to it without a doubt. I didn't think she would ever reject Alex for something like being gay, it's just nice to get some confirmation.

Also, on an emotional level, this is so great for all the younger boys and girls out there, still coming to terms with who they are and their fears. It's going to be great for them to see Maggie, an out and proud lesbian excelling in her field and dating comfortably, and now they're also going to have Alex, someone on the less comfortable or aware end of the spectrum, coming out "late" in life or with a ton of confusion, followed by immediate support from her family.

I just have like... a toooon of thoughts on this but I am EXCITED that we are getting this queer representation on such a great & influential show like Supergirl!
