You’re assuming that the civilian population is trained and capable of laying traps, ambushes, and using weapons. Let’s use the US as an example since this poll is about the US. Very few Americans are trained with weapons to the level of the military. They are also not trained to set traps or knowledgeable of military tactics. If we were invaded by a modern military, we would be crushed. They also wouldn’t even have to sent troops in because they could just launch drone strikes.

The government wouldn’t distribute weapons to the public because we have a military that is far more capable than random citizens. We also wouldn’t know how to use the majority of the weapons anyway.
