Teen accused of killing 8-year-old Melissa Ortega was on probation in 3 carjackings

You dont know what restorative justice is. Youre dumb. Restorative justice is a practice in which those harmed and the offenders meet so that the offenders can better understand the direct consequences of how their actions affected the victim and those close to the victim. It’s an opportunity for offenders to see first hand their actions caused tragedy not only to the victim but how that extends into the community as well. It has nothing to do with putting young offenders on probation for carjackings. If they had the carjacker meet with the carjackee so they could better understand the consequences of their actions then it would be “restorative justice”. It also provides opportunities for those harmed to find closure whether it be be through forgiveness or even espousing the angry they feel towards the offender.

The justice system is broken top down. At this point “conservative” and “progressive” policies are failing. If you want to convince yourself it’s because of progressive policies feel free, by all means you’re wrong but it’s your opinion. Just take some time to not be ignorant and understand what your talking about before you decide to make sweeping generalizations about something you clearly don’t understand.
