This is a long story I'll tell some day, but for now, the short version:

I have a friend who got married, he had 2 kids previously, so did she. Well, they wanted a baby together, but it didn't happen, despite trying. Anyway, a few years later, my buddy lost his eyesight, not completely, but to the point where he could no longer work and got on disability.

What did his wife do? Well, she was unemployed up to that point. So did she step up and get a job and help provide for the family, since her husband was now stuck at home? No, she found another guy, moved him in, kicked my buddy out, and not even 2 months later, she was knocked up. Well, her fuckboy didn't want anything to do with that, so he left as soon as he found out.

So what did she do? Tried to get back with my buddy. He took her back, because, of course he did, he has no self-respect. Looking back to when we were younger, I now realize he never really did have any self-respect. But, anyway, he's the official father of that child, on the birth certificate and everything. "That kid is gonna need a daddy, I'm gonna step up!"

Did they live happily ever after? Nope, she left my buddy again about a year after the baby was born. She's now knocked up again with some douchebag she brought in from several hundred miles away that she met through online gaming.

My buddy and his family will be on the hook for that child that isn't his til it turns 18.

I wish him well and have no ill will towards him, but I don't really have much to do with him anymore. I just can't look at him the same way I used to.
