Pretty sure I did this. 99% sure I'd messed up the interview already but...

I was talking about my research in Astronomy, and how as part of that I'd visited a UK-owned telescope and played around with an online diary for public engagement purposes. I made a tongue-in-cheek comment about how I was disappointed the UK sold them off as it likely meant the new owners would switch to remote viewing so astronomers wouldn't need to visit the mountain anymore. One interviewer with a cheeky grin pointed to the lead interviewer and said "well she's in charge of that, you should ask her for them back". So I did. "No." She said, completely unamused.

The job was for an internship in a government department. I don't think they like jokes.
