The TF2 Debate Between Ster And Dane

My belief on ster's choice to stay out of TF2 is his choice. However there are two sides you can take to this situation, and both seem pretty strong in both arguments. I will side with Dane on this argument, however.

ster is an asshole, (putting it bluntly) and his really only justification of his scummy-ness is that he is popular. Him bringing up things like "irrelevant old loser" insult, and comments like "Are you disappointed that after quitting the game my videos still get more views than yours do or something and you need to try and take me down a notch or what?" shows that he not only doesn't what Dane was trying to say. If anything, the latter comment brings himself down a notch i.e. ster shot himself in the foot. It shows that even the most little of criticism will make him turn his head and spit pea soup in rage.

Second point: Dane was making a video about the Minisentry, NOT ster. The second comment, while I do see as a small jab, is nothing more than that. Ster CHOSE to leave TF2 and its community behind. The impact he left behind is unchangeable; it will stay with TF2 forever. Whether or not ster realizes this is not Dane's fault, but it is still there.

Point 3: Ster is illogical in his argument. In his second comment "I continue to be harsh about it because you and everyone else - DESPITE how harsh I've been - still think I'm important enough to drag into this nonsense and get even further away from what I'd actually like" he is quoting that we still bring him up in TF2 shit. We do, I won't deny that. This thread is a great example of this. HOWEVER, if ster truly wanted to distance himself away from the TF2 community, he would bury it and never speak of it again. As in, "Willie hears ya, Willie doesn't care." Ster can try to defend himself and how he won't return to the TF2 community, and he has, but he has to remember that him being a huge part of this game's community will never stop this. Essentially, he is doomed to these kinds of posts over and over again, but he ultimately needs to learn how to ignore it. You could argue that it does get annoying, but that's what happens when you make a huge impact on something and expect it to go away. You can't control other people, and to those people, you have to learn to ignore it.

Dane is by no means scot-free on this. He made a jab in the comments, invoking the attack of ster. However, if ster was truly done with us, he would've considered it below him and moved on.

In short: ster might be done with playing TF2, but his ego and his burning hatred prevent him from truly leaving it as a whole. If he truly didn't care about what others think of him, he wouldn't have even considered making the comment.
