Is there a way to verify that the broker actually bought securities for you?

I’ve got a number of positions in some Vanguard ETFs at IBKR.

I’m in two minds about whether to DRS my positions or not. I trust IBKR, they’ve been around for a while and are audited yearly by a reputable firm, which would suggest that the risk of fraud is low (albeit not nil). And in case they go bankrupt (very low risk imo if you look at their balance sheet and business model), your shares would be safeguarded from the creditors and would highly likely be passed on to another broker.

I don’t know, I probably don’t know enough about the DRS process but i don’t see why it would be worth it.

But if anyone could highlight the benefits of DRS my positions, it would be highly appreciated!
