I've seen this before. This guy returned something to me one night at work. Sure, no reciept, no problem, I gave him the store credit on something cheap and his return was processed and timestamped. It wasn't even ten dollars. He bought some stuff on the credit and then he buzzed the magnetometers on the way out. That was a red flag especially considering that a woman walked in, two customers later, flared the magnetometers while walking in, and wanted to return over two hundred dollars worth of stuff.

The next night the same guy came in at around the same time with a rather expensive item, worth over forty dollars. Mind you, I remembered him from not only the night before. I saw him a few months before, during the crazy Christmas cycle, pulling the same shit. He wanted to return his "new and unopened" item for store credit so I did the sensible (drone who has no authority to say "fuck you") thing. I rang it up as a return, just to make sure that the void would have a time stamp on it, and called up a supervisor (under the guise of getting the return processed, and due to our system having to authorize large amount returns). The entire time this thieving scumbag was on the phone, yelling to his "mother" about how his "sister" didn't need the item and he couldn't return it. He's "calling" them over and over and somehow getting ahold of them in less time than it takes a phone to ring. It was just pure nonsense.

Well, my super decides that a return isn't necessary, especially during a shift like this, and to give store credit to someone for such a high-priced item would be a red flag to the whole operation. The super did the right thing, just saying that something like that cannot be returned at this time without a receipt, please come in during the day, have a good night. The guy starts bitching so much that my super started to lose cool, which I've never seen before. It was a situation I never wanted to be part of, but also just wanted to punch out the fuckwit who decided to dick around with actual working peoples' business. The guy bitched and moaned, said he'd be in to bitch out the DM, all that kind of nonsense, and hasn't shown his shitbag face again.

Granted, the section of town is scumshit city, the business itself is proud of purveying cheap mass-produced Chinese-made garbage, but damn did it piss me off that this kind of shit happened.
